On October 15, 2019 in the National Institute for Strategic Studies an introductory and consultative meeting occurred between leadership of the NISS and representatives of the Royal Institute of International Affairs, commonly known as Chatham House (Great Britain).
The meeting was attended by Director of the Institute Oleksandr Lytvynenko, Helena Savruk, Deputy Director of the NISS, Oleh Sinaiko, Deputy Director of the NISS, Orysia Lutsevych, Research Fellow and Manager of the Ukraine Forum in the Russia and Eurasia Programme at the Royal Institute of International Affairs “Chatham House”, and Mathieu Boulègue, Research Fellow of the Russia and Eurasia Programme at the Royal Institute of International Affairs “Chatham House”.
Experts discussed the following issues:
- political situation in Ukraine;
- main directions and key priorities of activity of the NISS, considering changes within domestic and foreign policy of Ukraine;
- importance of fostering positive communication between political elites and civic society for the sake of effective collaboration in implementation of reforms – inter alia, in defense sector;
- reintegration of the occupied territories.
