On September 23, Oleksandr Lytvynenko, NISS Director, met with Ms. Linda Smith, the United Kingdom's Special Adviser on Defense, and Deputy Adviser Robin Seaword.
The meeting was attended by Olga Reznikova, Head of the NISS Department of the Strategic Planning Research.
During the meeting the participants discussed problematic issues of developing the Ukraine’s national resilience, in particular the features of organizational and legal support of relevant processes, the introduction of a national risk and threat assessment system, providing targeted exercises and trainings, etc. The parties stressed the importance of proper coordination of efforts of executive authorities and local governments at different levels - national, regional, local. Prospects for organizing and conducting special training courses on national and regional resilience in Ukraine were also discussed.
The NISS Director, Oleksandr Lytvynenko, thanked the representatives of the United Kingdom for their significant contribution to the processes of supporting reforms in the security and defense sector of Ukraine, including in national resilience building.
