On March 23, 2021, the Director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies Oleksandr Lytvynenko met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ukraine H.E. Mr Alisher Kurmanov and First Secretary of Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ukraine Abdurahmon Mahmudov.
Oleh Sinaiko, Deputy Director of the NISS, also took part in the event on behalf of the Institute.
The parties discussed the prospects of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Uzbekistan and the further development of cooperation between expert circles of both countries. It was noted that, given the high potential for cooperation between two countries, there is an urgent need for in-depth analysis and development of strategies for further development of cooperation in various fields.
During the meeting, a proposal was made to mediate the Embassy in establishing contacts with similar analytical structures of Uzbekistan, in particular, with the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in order to identify potential areas of cooperation, exchange of expert opinion on solving problems facing Ukraine and Uzbekistan, in the fields of economy, ecology, etc.
